About

Hi, I’m Valerie Ruha, owner of Very Organized by Valerie.

Organization has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was the one reorganizing my closet for fun, creating systems for my belongings, and helping friends and family bring order to their spaces. Long before this became my profession, it was simply how I was wired.

That natural love of organizing followed me throughout my life. I earned my degree in English Literature (which explains my lifelong love affair with books), spent years working in bookstores organizing shelves and helping customers, and eventually built a 20+ year career in operations, where process, structure, and creating efficient systems became second nature. But helping people create organized, functional spaces has always been the work I felt most drawn to. 

What began as helping friends, family, and colleagues eventually became the business I had always dreamed of building: a way to combine my organizational instincts, problem-solving skills, and love of helping others create homes that truly work for them.

Today, through Very Organized by Valerie, I help clients declutter, organize, and navigate life transitions with a thoughtful, judgment-free approach tailored to their needs and lifestyle.

I am a member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO), currently serve as President of NAPO Minnesota, and hold a certificate in Residential Organizing. I also specialize in book collections and home library organization, a perfect blend of two lifelong passions. I believe organization isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating systems that support your life, reduce stress, and make your home feel easier to live in.

In my spare time, I’m an avid reader, a DIY enthusiast, and happiest when spending time with family, friends, and my 3-year-old Golden Retriever, Finley.

Building a business around work I genuinely love has been incredibly rewarding, and I feel fortunate to help clients create homes that feel lighter, calmer, and easier to enjoy.  I’d love to help you create a space that works for you!
